Effectiveness of Intravenous Vitamin C for Cancer Cure

In this section I would be interested to gather early opinions of the experts on the subject that matters most to us - how much hope is in this new treatment and under what preconditions.

1. "Drisko hopes these small "stepping-stone" studies will persuade the NIH to fund large, new trials. So far, it has said no, even though Levine's work is respected. "I think what these initial studies will show us is that it's safe," said Drisko, who consulted on the Jefferson study. "I don't think it will be definitive until we have several large, multi-center trials." http://www.philly.com/inquirer/world_us/20080103_Jefferson_to_study_intravenous_Vitamin_C_vs__cancer.html?text=xlg
2. Many of them have received IAA, with various degrees of success. Our cases include a patient with cancer of the head of the pancreas who lived for 3.5 years with IAA as sole therapy, resolution of bone metastases in patients with breast cancer, many patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (none of whom have died from their disease), resolution of primary liver carcinoma tumors, resolution of and reduction in size of metastatic colon carcinoma lesions, and resolution of metastatic lesions and over 3-year survival in patients with widely metastatic ovarian carcinoma. We plan to present a full compilation of cases in another communication. We have seen only two cases of metastatic renal cell carcinoma, considered a uniformly untreatable disease. Because the results were so dramatic, people with this disease could potentially benefit the most from IAA treatment.
3. Neil H. Riordan: "Occasionally people who take vitamin C experience miraculous results, however it is not a cancer cure. As part of a comprehensive cancer treatment program vitamin C is a powerful tool to help people have stronger immune systems, an increased quality of life, and increased chances of surviving their disease". "We routinely give large doses of vitamin C to people with cancer at the ITL Clinic. In addition to its anti-tumor effects vitamin C has side "benefits," as opposed to adverse side effects seen with other cancer treatments. The side benefits include an increased sense of well-being, decreased pain, enhanced immune system and stronger collagen-the glue that prevents cancer cells from spreading." http://www.immunemedicine.com/ReferencesVitaminC.asp
4. I personally take Intravenous Vitamin C treatments along with many others that I know who have a variety of cancers and we have experienced many successes. Some are more successful than others because there is much more involved in conquering this disease naturally than just this one treatment as powerful and effective as it is. Diet and supplements are extremely important as well. A strong immune system is the key. http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,21307,0.htm
5. Dr. Glenn Rothfeld, (featured on CBS/WBZ) an Arlington physician offers his patients intravenous Vitamin C, usually in combination with traditional treatments, "In a number of patients, although certainly not all, it has seemed to arrest or slow down the progression of their cancer." http://wbztv.com/health/Cancer.Vitamin.C.2.582779.html?detectflash=false
6. Mary Clinic - Countless cases of people told to go home and die by their doctors were treated and outlived their death sentences. Patients with all types of cancer - breast, lung, colon, prostate, pancreatic, kidney, leukemia, even metastatic cancer- can be helped with ascorbic acid. But it is not just the Vitamin C. At the clinic, we believe in a more holistic philosophy. Medicine cannot be the only answer. We are complex organisms that require many different things to operate. What we eat, what we breathe, what we drink, how we feel, how we interact with each other, our spirituality- these things will not be separate. These are the core issues of health and wellness. There is no magic bullet. http://www.maryclinic.com/mission.html
7. I work in natural health, and we provide VIT C for cancer patients. I have never heard the doctor I work for balk at conventional medicine, we use this as a complementary treatment. It allows patients to recooperate from chemo faster, and helps to rebuild the body while chemo destroys more than just the cancer. I have seen amazing changes in people who are on Vit C treatment...lung cancer patients that have come off of oxygen, a bone cancer patient that came in wheelchair bound now walks with her walker into the office. I may not be helping to cure cancer, but if by helping someone remain strong during chemo I give them more quality time with their family then I feel I have helped.
8. Matalon (featured on TV): Vitamin C is not miraculous, proponents say. Just as some people die despite standard treatment, some die despite ascorbate drips. "We may not be able to affect the ultimate outcome," said Matalon, who sees about 15 ascorbate patients a week. "But I think we see a dramatic improvement in quality of life." http://www.informationliberation.com/?id=12290,
9. What 5 out of 9 cancers died in Levine's study? Five out of nine types of cancer cells that were put in simulated body-cavity fluid died when concentrated ascorbate or peroxide was added to the dish. http://www.informationliberation.com/?id=12290.
10. Dr. Santos uses Intravenous Vitamin C quite frequently in the treatment of cancer. He has found that his patients experience less side effects from chemotherapy and radiation as well as reduces the pain associated with cancer... He also has a number of patients who's tumor markers has reduced steadily while on the treatment. http://www.centralparknaturopathic.com/iv_vitamin_c_therapy.html
